Salvation Mountain - Parallel33 Photography

Salvation Mountain

In the heart of the eclectic Slab City, California, stands a vibrant landscape. In a desert surrounded by only trailer parks, the last thing you would expect to find is a huge piece of art. This hill has been turned into a beautiful and colorful monument for the glory of God. The mountain speaks of God's love, which is what gives it its name. The entire mountain was adorned with half a million gallons of paint over the years by local resident Leonard Knight, whose life goal was to spread the good news of Jesus' death and resurrection. What is most clear about this place is the community's love of art and their boldness about their faith in God. My family was blessed in our visit this place and we had lots of fun doing it.
